Frequently Asked Questions
Who is Wine & Roses?

We are a unique little shop now located in the "heart" of Sechelt, on the Sunshine Coast.
Why are you unique?
Because we're here to pleasure your senses.
How`s that?
By offering you an on-premise wine making facility as well as a superb selection of outstanding roses and fresh cut flowers.
What kind of wine?
On premise. It means you make your own wine at a fraction of the store- bought price.
Good wine?
The best. We`ve got many, many different wines from around the world.
You can make it fromeither concentrate or pure juice.
OK - where do I find you?

yada yada yada stuff
Making my own wine - is it as complicatedas I think?
No. It's very simple. The most you have to do is fill the bottles, cork and label.
Do I have to wait forever before I can enjoy it?
It takes about 4 to 6 weeks for the wine to ferment, depending on what you`ve picked - then it`s good to go.
Can I taste before I buy?
Unfortunately (due to law) we can`t give you a sample before you bottle. We do have a "satisfaction guaranteed" policy - if for some reason the taste is now what you expected we will make a batch that does make you happy.
How much will this cost me?

Depending ontghe quality and product you chose, anywhere from $100 to $260 for thirty, 750ml bottles - that's only $3 to $9 a bottle! Prices include corks, caps and labels, taxes and our services.
What services?
We monitor the wine as it ferments. Making sure it`s at the right temperature, stirring and mixing, and generally keeping things working right. We share our knowledge of wine and help bottle and cork if you need it.
And why do I want to do this make-my-own-wine thing?
Well, it`s much less expensive than store bought. It has less additives. It's creative and fun to do! Going out for a fine dinner is good, but sometimes it`s great to make a home cooked meal and invite your friends over to enjoy. Making your own wine is the same thing. Some say better.
